Not one but six — Maxime Büchi translates the key ideas behind six iconic Sebastian products into unique designs, each blending his signature style with graphic and impressionistic representations of the product benefits.
Swiss-born, London-based Maxime Büchi is best known as an in-demand tattoo artist at his studio Sang Bleu. But he’s also a creative director and publisher for fashion and design publications who has worked with brands like Mugler, Rick Owens, and Balenciaga. His work blends varied influences, from medieval iconography to architecture to computer-generated scientific imagery. Sang Bleu is Maxime’s passion. It’s his tattoo studio in East London, but also a contemporary art studio, a magazine, and an internet platform.
Not one but six — renowned tattoo artist Maxime Büchi translates the key ideas behind six iconic Sebastian products into unique designs, each blending his signature style with graphic and impressionistic representations of the product benefits. The result? Not just a limited edition – a collector's edition. From classical, medieval or renaissance references or the influence of mystical engravings to graphical and contemporary shapes: it's all in the mix.
For me, it is the craft, the commitment to a smaller brand that speaks to people who are extremely advanced in what they do.MAXIME BÜCHI
"Flames – I like the idea of manipulating fire. I treated it as an engraving-inspired thing to give it that universal, timeless quality, but a little cleaner.""
"It’s a shape based on the most simple and fundamental shapes in the world. Something that cannot be broken."
"Structures of the vaults in cathedrals. The way the arches cross. It's architectural, a beautiful structure."
"It’s a transition between elements, between the states of an element, but it also has the notion of something sublime."
"Every person has dreamt of flying. The whole idea of the body becoming like air — I based my painted goddess on this."
"The idea was simply to work on those timeless representations of beauty and nature."
